KaoruXReader: Unexpected turn

“(Y/N)! Hey! Hold up!” Kaoru cheered and chased after you. “I got you a present!” He stopped behind you and gave you an innocent smile.

“Oh hey Kaoru.” you smile, a faint blush on your cheeks. You had met this strange twin a year ago when you first moved to Japan and your father enrolled you in Ouran High. Both twins had wanted to play a prank on you when you first arrived and they soon fulfilled their dirty work and dumped a pail of water on your head.

It took you a while to forgive them after that but eventually you fell in love with their characters and realized after some time that you not only fell in love with their constant laughter and personalities but that you fell for the younger brother. “What kind of present did you get me? Is it another prank on me or is it something that I can actually use?”

“Even better!” he chuckled but was then interrupted by the rest of the Host Club and frowned. “Guys, not to be rude but go away.”

“Wow that is rude!” Tamaki frowned as well, “For that you will get punished! No matter how many clients you may get today, they will not count in popularity, which means you twins spot in the chart will dwindle!” He then gave a dreamy face, “Keeping mine safe and in the lead.”

“Whatever. Forget that.” Hikaru’s eyes widened when he heard his brother say that. This wasn’t like him. Was he going back to the days before they had met Tamaki and their world changed? God he hoped not. He stared at his twin but something in Kaoru’s eyes reassured him that that wasn’t so. He gave a sigh of relief then looked to the others.

“Let’s leave them be. We have plenty of time before the guests arrive.” Tamaki fumed but let it go and they moved back towards the club room. Haruhi smiled knowingly at Hikaru. “You’re thinking what I am, aren’t you?”

Hikaru smirked, “That depends on what you were thinking.” She shook her head and decided to leave it at that. But they were both thinking the same thing. Kaoru was being pissy because he wanted to be with you. Alone. Not even Hikaru!

Kaoru sighed and took your hand. “Follow me. I know a place no one can find us.” You were then led to the garden, more specifically the rose maze. He had you go in with him and led you to the very center, where a gazebo with a table lay unused. The two of you sat down and he leaned his elbows on the table. You couldn’t help but blush at that warm smile he gave you. But why were you brought out here? You tilted your head to the side a bit to think about it.

Kaoru blinked, “Hey, are you okay (Y/N)? What’s with that face?”

You return to your senses and shake your head, smiling. “Oh, I’m okay. I was just thinking. Why are we way out here?” His expression changed to that of being a bit shy and looked away. He fidgeted a little, keeping his eyes away from hers with a faint blush on his cheeks.

“I just want you all to myself is all. We don’t talk much anymore and I missed spending time with you. You are my only friend besides Haruhi, remember? Hikaru doesn’t count, he has to like me. We’re twins.” he mumbled.

You can’t help but blush. “Kaoru that’s very sweet of you to say. I missed you too.” you smile.

His eyes lidded over halfway as he looked back at you. “(Y/N)….” He slowly cupped your cheek with his hand and slowly leaned in. You were caught off guard for a second then found yourself leaning in as well. Slowly… slowly… and…. “Kaoru!”

Damn! The two of you pulled away from that inch close distance you had from each other. “Hikaru! Go away!” Kaoru growled.

Hikaru poked his head in and blinked. “Sheesh.” He went over to Kaoru and grabbed his arm. “Sorry (Y/N) but I need to borrow Kaoru for the Host Club. I’ll return him later.” he smiled then dragged his twin away.

You sigh. “That Host Club… with all those girls staring and goo-goo eyeing him as well… I can’t stand it.” When you realized what you said you gasp and blush deeply. Were you seriously that in love with him?! You followed them after a while and sat down at one of the empty tables, just to watch him.

After Hosting hours just ended and everyone was leaving, Kaoru did the unthinkable. He dashed over to you, pulled you up, held you close and kissed you. Your eyes widened, as did everyone else’s in the room. “Kaoru!?” Tamaki gasped. You kissed back for a brief second before he pulled away.

“Shut up Boss, I love (Y/N).” Kaoru scoffed then slowly smirked, “She’s mine and no one can take her from me.” You blush then lean on him, snuggling up to him.

“I love you too Kaoru.”

Hikaru laughed so hard he almost fell over. “I saw this coming from miles away! Way to go Kaoru!”

You smile. Your new life will be so much more exciting now, with a weird boy such as Kaoru being your boyfriend. One thing is certain: You’ll never be bored again!
